Ofafa Jericho High School is a well-established extra county entity that is well-endowed with most of the basic value assets in the education sector to provide quality education.

The School started in 1965 as a Boy School and was housed in Science Centre at Ngara from where after sometime, it was shifted to wooden huntmenys at Highridge(Parklands-Nairobi).
In September 1967, on the completion of some of the basic buildings in Jericho Eastlands, the school was relocated to its present location. International Development Agency(IDA) handed over the building to Kenyan Goernment with incomplete fittings.
In January 1968, girls were incorporated into the school to make it co-educational. The school moved froma three-streamed school from Form One to Form Four. In 1981, the school introduced A- level Arts one-streamed with 40 students offering English, Mathematics, Economics, Geography and History.
In 1998, girls were faced out, which saw the birth of Buru Buru Girls. Ultimately , the School remained a boy's school and Buru Buru Girls, a girl's school.
The first African headteacher was Mr. S>N Kagiri who took over from the founding Headteacher Mr. A.S Bhambra, (an indian by nationality) in 1970. Since then, there have been several Headteachers/Principals over the years like Mr. Wamwangi, Prof. Ayot, Mr.Nyasae, Mr.Igobwa, Mr.Oketch, Mr.Wachira and Mr.Emmanuel Owuor. Currently,the school is under the leadership of Mr. Mathews M. Linge(The Principal)
Under the able leadership of Mr.Linge the school has attained the highest mean ever since it inception, 51 years ago; and propelling more than half of the candidates to the university. It is hoped that this year more 90 percent will join universities.
